[ intro goes here ]

You can get your suggestions for me on this list by contacting me, only if it’s good.

Electronics

Laptop

Priorities: Good battery life. Easy to repair. Ability to make a computer scientist happy.

Modern laptop models are horrible. I prefer older models just because they look better.

I don’t play games too often so I don’t care much about hardware. Sometimes I may want to play with graphics, compile Rust code and do stuff that consumes a large amount of CPU/GPU cycles, so it’d be better if the laptop comes with a graphics card or a good CPU.

I would also prefer models that supports Libreboot.

In-ear monitor (IEM)

Priorities: Good for various music genres, especially electronic and rock.

Currently using: Simgot EW300

  • JVC HA-FD01
    • Made in Japan, a place known to have great music and audiophiles.
    • Originally recommended by an audiophile living in Japan as this is his favorite piece.
    • Went on Discord to ask him again and he still had the same opinion with the addition of him being a Chinese IEM hater now.

Keyboard

Priorities: Comfortable for long-term using. Optimized for Emacs. Not loud. Low latency.

  • Happy Hacking Keyboard
    • Made by a small Japanese company (small is a bonus)
    • Had quite a large reputation in the typing world. I mean, “Made for all who create” is their tagline…
  • Wooting 60HE
    • I saw a large amount of streamers use this.
    • If it’s good for gaming then it should work for programmers. Hopefully.
  • Dygma Raise
  • GMK Hanami Dango

Mouse

Priorities: Low latency. Hybrid is better. Doesn’t break. Multiple buttons is great.

Mousepad

Priorities: None specifically.

  • Artisan FX Zero
    • Used by a lot of pro players.
  • or some random mousepad on some marketplace idk
