About

  • Who am I?

I am somebody located somewhere in UTC+7.

  • What kind of somebody?

A normal somebody.

  • Interests?

Unsorted: Code, tech, computers, languages, people with good knowledge, good art, good music.

  • Languages?

Mainly Go. I had also worked with Rust, Python, Javascript. Wanted to learn Zig, Clojure, Ruby, Lua, Fennel, C++.

  • Spoken languages?

Native at Vietnamese. Decent at English but skills are a bit broken.

  • Hobbies?

Chess (used to play a lot), coding, looking for new art…

Tech

  • OS?

NixOS. It is my favorite. I’d go back to Alpine Linux or Arch Linux if forced to.

  • How did you get into the Linux rabbit hole?

All thanks to a Windows BSoD I can’t figure out. Frustrated, I installed Kali Linux and began my Linux journey there.

  • How deep are you in the Linux rabbit hole?

Just know that I’m not a masochist :)

  • Keyboard layout?

Colemak.

Taste

  • Favorite illustration style?

Girls with flowers and/or complex scenery/background (for example, the banner image)

  • Favorite music genre?

This is a hard question. TBH I don’t really know, since I enjoy listening to a lot of genres, but if I had to choose, then, maybe shoegaze, progressive house and indie rock.

  • Favorite artist?

For electronic music, it’d be deadmau5. For rock music, it varies, I’d choose Ngọt, Cá Hồi Hoang, Parannoul, Car Seat Headrest. For other genres, it’s can’t really tell for now.

  • No Japanese artists though you mostly listen to them?

Hard question. Though I had a lot of impressions on Japanese artists, I felt like I don’t understand their music (on many aspects) good enough to be able to “like” them.

  • Favorite tracks?

The Veldt by deadmau5 ft. Chris James, Alice in 冷凍 庫 by Orangestar w/ め ありー, and ハルカ by 36g.

I’d say these 3 tracks represent most of my music taste. Alternatively, you can check out the list of music tracks I like on my Featured tracks page.

Views

  • AI art?

It is not “art” and I dislike its consumers.

  • Views on society?

So far, not so bright. I have some thoughts in my mind, and I don’t really want to share it (yet). Maybe it is just because I haven’t seen the broader world (yet).

  • Thoughts on Vietnamese netizens?

Bad. I can’t stand with 95% of Vietnamese people I met online. I wouldn’t doubt if some studies pump out more analysis of online toxicity with Vietnam on the top 5 worst countries list (they already did btw).

  • Ideologies?

A lot. Need some time to organize.

  • Politics? I always try to stay apolitical on the Internet. Of course I do have some opinions on global politics, though I prefer not to engage in political conversations online.

I’d put myself at the near center of the political spectrum. I view all sides as equal and grant myself the freedom to criticise anything related to politics.

Games

Almost all of my time on desktop were spent on something but games. Some games I had played before:

For mobile games (I know, I know. I am too deep down the rabbit hole now):

Wishlist

My family bought me a PC set many years ago. It’s a very low-end PC with cheap accessories, but fortunately, thanks to Linux and no gaming, I was able to daily drive it without much problems (other than compiling Rust code). If I had the ability to afford a better working experience, I’d do so. Here is my wishlist, I also made one on Amazon:
